+ THE REBIRTH OF A CHAPLAIN +
It was the silence that awoke him.
The cold steel of the table in the Medical Facility onboard the battle cruiser only seemed to aggravate his injuries.
Rorex found himself hooked up to a number of machines and monitors, each one recording his vital signs and monitoring his present condition. This was no place he needed to be right now.
“I will to speak with him as soon as possible then. There are a number of important people that have some questions for the Chaplain.”
“Yes sir, that will not be a problem” the medical servitor told the Inquisitor.
“You will advise me immediately when his condition changes then.”
“Yes sir, that will not be a problem.”
“I will wait for your call, but keep in mind… I do not wish to wait long.”
“Yes sir, that will not be...”
Just as Inquisitor Feridagh turned to walk away, the bulkhead door to the Recovery room slid open. Rorex never could walk through the narrow doors straight on and now the doorway seemed to be even smaller despite the fact he had no armour on.
Rorex’s shadow stretched out into the hallway touching the Inquisitor, he froze in midstep.
The utter look of disbelief on the face of the servitor gave away the thoughts of both men standing there looking at the Chaplain.
To see a man who had been recovered from the battlefield only 5 hours earlier with the fatal wounds he had… walk out of the recovery room, sent a frightening chill down the Inquisitor’s spine… one he could not shake.
“I will take the sword now.”
Inquisitor Feridagh couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“I don’t believe that will be pos……” his sentence cut short by Rorex grabbing his neck and slamming him into the corridor wall.
“I will not tell you second time” Rorex whispered into Feridagh’s ear.
